With the AI-teach Summer School 2026 approaching, it is time to introduce the experts who will be sharing their knowledge and experience with our participants in Rzeszów.
From 30 August to 4 September 2026, an international team of trainers will bring together expertise in AI literacy, digital education, teacher education, instructional design, inclusive education, educational technology and more.
Meet our trainers
Jacqueline Nijenhuis-Voogt – Radboud University, the Netherlands
A teacher educator and researcher specialising in computing science didactics, digital literacy and AI literacy. With a background as a secondary school computer science teacher, Jacqueline brings together academic research and classroom practice.
Jon Hoem – Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Norway
Professor at the Department of Art with a background in ICT and Learning. His work explores new media, artistic research and the relationship between digital media and physical installations.
Katharina Maitz – Private University College of Teacher Education Augustinum, Austria
A professor of inclusive and digital education whose research explores digitalisation, diversity and educational inequality, as well as AI literacy and AI use among pre-service teachers.
Jochem Hiddink – HAN University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands
A lecturer and trainer in teacher education specialising in generative AI, digital literacy and AI literacy. His work focuses on helping current and future teachers use AI meaningfully and responsibly in educational practice.
Marieke Decock – Itec, KU Leuven and imec, Belgium
A researcher in instructional design and technology focusing on teachers’ AI literacy and the potential of AI in secondary and higher education. Before moving into research, Marieke spent 25 years teaching Dutch and English in secondary education.
Carl Boel – VIVES University of Applied Sciences, Belgium
A senior researcher in educational technology with expertise in AI and XR literacy. With a background spanning secondary education, teacher training and research, Carl combines academic expertise with extensive experience in the field.
Erman Uzun – Mersin University, Türkiye
A teacher educator and researcher working at the intersection of artificial intelligence in education, digital literacy and educational robotics.
Merlyn Schoors – VIVES University of Applied Sciences, Belgium
A teacher educator specialising in educational sciences and innovation, including AI, inclusive education, differentiation and assessment. Her work focuses on the purposeful integration of AI to support student learning.
Arkadiusz Pietluch – University of Rzeszów, Poland
An Associate Professor, teacher trainer and researcher whose work covers AI in teacher education, language learning and teaching psychology, and well-being in education.
Marta Dick-Bursztyn – University of Rzeszów, Poland
An Associate Professor specialising in second language didactics, pre-service teacher education and teacher development during teaching practice.
Bringing different perspectives together
What makes this group particularly valuable is not only the breadth of their expertise, but also the different perspectives they bring to the table.
Researchers, teacher educators and former classroom teachers will come together to connect research with practice and explore AI literacy from technological, pedagogical, inclusive and creative perspectives.
